Another dose of quantitative easing medication is looking increasingly likely in the US and possibly the UK. The fragility of the recovery is causing concern for policy makers and they are keen to avert a double dip scenario. Talk of such action is providing further support to risk assets and in particular commodities which have also been aided by the weaker dollar. Gold for example has continued to rise, seen currently as both a safe haven and a hedge against potential longer term inflation. more
