October 2012 Office expansion Over the past few months we have taken on a number of new staff in various departments, we welcome Kristina Grove to the book keeping team based at Huntingdon, Joe Kokotka as an accounts trainee also at Huntingdon, Helen Huckle as a scanning/filing clerk at Biggleswade and Sophie Northfield as a trainee in our payroll department. September 2012 Golden Achievement Eddie Fuller achieved a colossal 50 years of service at George Hay on 3rd September after joining the firm in 1962. Eddie is currently a consultant with the practice having previously been a partner from 1986 to 2011. The whole firm celebrated his momentous achieve with a luncheon at Moggerhanger Park. The partners would like to thank Eddie for his contribution to the practice over the years. Wedding announcement Martin Williams a senior audit manager at our Letchworth office married Janka Lajcinova on 15th September. Our congratulations to Martin and Janka. August 2012 More Exam Passes Our congratulations to Daniel Wisby and Frances Granville Smith who both passed their final exams with the Association of Accounting Technicians. Both now intend to study towards The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales qualification. July 2012 Exam passes James Smith and Christine Courtman have both recently been successful in their exams towards the ICAEW qualification. They have passed another level and continue on to the next stage. Olympic Torch The Olympic torch passed our Huntingdon office on 8th July. 25 years service Julie Couldridge achieved 25 years service to the firm in July starting with the firm on 6th July 1987. June 2012 Wedding season We have had two weddings in June, Emma Wells married Gary Wilsher on 8th June and a week later Christine Homewood married Tim Courtman on the 16th June. Shakespeare at The George Once again a group of our guests attended the annual Shakespeare at the George production held at the George Hotel in Huntingdon. This year’s play was Love’s Labours Lost. Our guests enjoyed a buffet meal at the George Hay offices prior to the performance, before heading across to watch the play, we were even lucky with the weather with no rain. May 2012 Ladies night at the races for George Hay Chartered accountancy firm George Hay held a successful event at Ladies Evening at Huntingdon Racecourse on 29 May. more March 2012 Budget Seminar Following the Chancellors budget on 21st March the firms Tax Partner, Barry Jefferd, presented a Budget Update Seminar on Friday 23rd March. The seminar was commented to be very informative by attendees. 25 years service Tony Newman and Claire Morgan both achieved 25 years at the practice on 9th and 23rd March respectively. Quiz The annual George Hay quiz was held on 5th March. Quiz master was Barry Jefferd who had prepared all the questions together with is wife Susan. The winning team this year was Lloyds Bank.
