Barry joined George Hay from a City of London practice in 1988 since when he has been responsible for our Tax Department. He is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. In his role Barry advises on the complete range of taxes, although he particularly enjoys the capital taxes.
While his main specialism is tax in which he frequently carries out various tax planning exercises for clients, Barry is also substantially involved in audits, Financial Services compliance, and business plans. He also carries out a number of share valuations and has appeared in the High Court as an expert witness.
Barry is a current member and past Chairman of the Mid Anglia branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, and currently serves as a member of that Institute's Education Committee. He regularly lectures on taxation issues not just at our own seminars but also to other professionals in the industry as well as being
co-author of "Tax Planning for the Smaller Business".
Barry likes to be involved with the local community and is Vice Chairman of the Huntingdonshire Chamber of Commerce.
