{"id":3856,"date":"2019-07-23T14:35:34","date_gmt":"2019-07-23T14:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.georgehay.co.uk\/blogs\/?p=3784"},"modified":"2023-11-16T08:40:23","modified_gmt":"2023-11-16T08:40:23","slug":"xero-roadshow-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.georgehay.co.uk\/blogs\/2019\/07\/xero-roadshow-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"We\u2019ve been out and about to\u2026 the Xero Roadshow 2019!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Back in May, I went along to the Xero Roadshow 2019 at The Belfry Hotel &amp; Resort, in Birmingham. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xero took their roadshow to 11 cities between 8 May \u2013 11 June, hosting hundreds of accountants and bookkeepers at each event. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Exhibitors included Receipt Bank, Hubdoc and WorkflowMax, and headline apps GoCardless and Fluidly were also showcasing their services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Throughout the day, Xero experts and members of the Xero leadership team gave talks on the power of integrated apps; they discussed new products and forthcoming enhancements to the Xero product; they delivered demonstrations and they provided insights into their plans for a digital future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Why did we go along?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019re committed to consolidating and enhancing our Making Tax Digital (MTD) \u2018know-how\u2019. In turn, this enables us to help you to make a success of the switch to digital!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>What did we learn about Xero?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xero now has over 463,000 UK subscribers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xero are actively looking into introducing more forecasting services in the future<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2018Mileage\u2019 as an add on to expenses will hopefully be coming soon<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xero wants to help its customers to better monitor KPI\u2019s, via the dashboard facility<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xero.com\/uk\/resources\/small-business-insights\/\">\u2018Small Business Insights<\/a>\u2019 <\/strong><\/span>provides a monthly snapshot of the UK\u2019s small business sector<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u2026 and last but not least, an interesting fact (not related to Xero specifically) that resonated with us for obvious reasons;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">{85% of businesses who engage an accountant early on survive 5+ years, compared to those who don\u2019t \u2013 of those who don\u2019t engage an accountant early on, typically only 50% survive}<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Author insight\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cIt was really interesting to learn about Xero\u2019s plans for development and to be involved in discussions about other users\u2019 experiences with the software. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We also had the opportunity to hear from third party integrators about the benefit of apps, and from individuals who spoke about their intentions to utilize a \u2018network\u2019 of systems and applications to suit their organisation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Xero clearly have some promising ideas for the future.
