Those of you busy tying up loose ends in the fortnight before Christmas would be forgiven for missing news about the upcoming Budget.

Prime Minister, Jeremy Hunt, confirmed that the next Budget, to set out the Governments spending plans and tax policy, would take place on Wednesday 15 March 2023 and be accompanied by a forecast from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).

We will deliver a digital summary of the announcements in the hours following the Chancellor’s address. Our usual hard-copy Budget Summary booklet, which is posted out to clients and contacts, will be replaced with a new tax tables and planning focused publication later on in Spring.

In addition, as we draw nearer to the end of the current tax year, and to the start of another which we already know is bringing some substantial changes, and with a Budget just around the corner, the importance of tax planning is emphasised.

This is why we are holding a free event on Friday 17 March, dedicated to practical tax planning matters, and a round-up of the relevant Budget measures. You can register to attend here.
