Phil is a Chartered Tax Adviser and he joined George Hay in 2013 as a Tax Partner.
Phil initially qualified with George Hay in 1994 and then left the firm to pursue a career in London. Working initially in the tax department of a top 10 firm, Phil subsequently became a tax partner with an eleven partner firm in the City of London, before deciding to come back to Bedfordshire to re-join George Hay in 2013.
Phil has built up many years of experience of advising individuals and businesses in relation to their tax affairs, both in relation to tax planning, transactional advice and tax compliance services.
He has a broad range of experience across a spectrum of taxes, including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Corporation Tax, National Insurance, IHT, VAT and SDLT.
Phil also acts for many clients who have international connections and he has considerable experience of providing advice about cross-border taxation issues for both individuals and businesses, for example in relation to the structuring of business operations for in-bound and out-bound expansion, planning around tax residency issues for individuals and companies and the structuring of inward investment into UK real estate and other assets.
Outside of work Phil can be found spending time with his wife and their two young sons and he also enjoys running and going to see Arsenal play.
