Last month, we were pleased to bring back our annual Jubilee Shield Quiz at John O’Gaunt Golf Club, with resident Quizmaster Barry Jefferd delivering 10 rounds of tricky trivia, including a ‘Traitors’ themed round, and a ‘cryptic fish’ round.
We welcomed teams of local professionals, who not only made it a close-run competition, but helped us raise a fantastic sum of money for our annual charity, Happy Days Children’s Charity.
NFU Mutual Bedfordshire were worthy first-time winners, claiming the trophy from repeat winners BTG Eddisons.
Quizmaster and Tax Partner, Barry, commented: “The Jubilee Shield Quiz is something we’ve been putting on for over 30 years, and it continues to be a fantastic event thanks to other local professionals who give up their evening to attend.
“I thoroughly enjoy coming up with the questions, and no two years have ever been the same. This year turned out to be a fantastic evening, with laughter, generosity and some brilliant brains in the room, and we look forward to another enjoyable night in 2027.”
George Hay extend their thanks to all who took part – Satchells Estate Agents, Tollers Solicitors, Women In Business Network (WIBN), Woburn Street Financial Planning, Machins Solicitors LLP, HRJ Foreman Laws Solicitors, BTG Eddisons and NFU Mutual Bedfordshire.
Unfortunately, our Biggleswade office was affected by a fire overnight.
As a result, the Biggleswade office will remain closed for the rest of this week while we assess the damage and begin the recovery process.
We would like to reassure all of our clients that no client files or important documents have been damaged. The fire has affected the office building and furniture, but your records remain safe and secure.
Our other offices remain open and operating as normal. Following earlier issues, our phone lines are now operational. Calls to our Biggleswade office are being diverted to our open sites and the team are taking messages where necessary. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience in the coming days.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service for their swift, professional, and dedicated response. Most importantly, we are incredibly grateful that no one was injured.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support during this time. We will keep you updated as further information becomes available.
