At the start of 2024, we committed to fundraising for a local charity who had helped one of our own colleagues at a challenging time in her life – The Primrose Car Service.
This service, which is part of Bedford Hospital Charity & Friends, provides free of charge transportation to Addenbrookes Hospital for people receiving cancer treatment. With a fleet of 6 cars, and thanks to 39 volunteers, the service operates 5 days a week (with morning and afternoon runs).
We were pleased to meet with representatives and volunteers, Ken Williams and Peter Marks, to hand over £1,197.54, earlier this month.
This donation will help towards the cost of uniforms, the costs associated with replacing the vehicles used by the charity, and annual events to recognise the hard work of the volunteers.
