Earlier this month, the whole George Hay team came together at Knebworth Barns for our annual away day.
The day began with a relaxed catch-up over coffee, before presentations from Managing Partner Martin Williams and Partner Caroline Hicks. Martin reflected on the firm’s performance over the past year and shared our strategy for the year ahead, while Caroline covered recent IT and AI developments and gave an update on the work being undertaken by the marketing department.
Making the most of the sunshine, we then headed out into the surrounding gardens in teams to answer questions about the venue and its famous history. The questions led us through the dinosaur trail, back to the rose garden, into the pet cemetery, and even required us to grab a selfie with Mr McGregor!
The team then returned to the barn for lunch, drinks and garden games, giving everyone another opportunity to socialise and spend time together outside the usual working day.
Our annual away day is an important fixture in the George Hay calendar. It gives the partners the chance to share key updates, reflect on the firm’s progress and outline our plans for the future, while also bringing colleagues from our three offices together in one place.
Just as importantly, it is a day we all genuinely enjoy. Time spent away from our desks helps strengthen relationships across the firm, encourages collaboration between teams, and gives us a chance to celebrate the hard work and achievements of the past 12 months. Events like this play an important role in maintaining the friendly, supportive culture we value at George Hay, and we are already looking forward to the next one.
