If you’re currently using Xero for your cloud accounting needs, Hubdoc could save you even more time when it comes to recording paper bills and receipts.
Hubdoc, which is free to use for individuals with a Xero licence, allows you to upload paper receipts and the like to Xero, by syncing the two accounts. When it comes to putting the information into Hubdoc, you can choose whether to:
- email your documents in to the account;
- upload your documents from wherever they are saved on your device; or,
- download the mobile app and take a photo.
Once the file or image has been uploaded, Hubdoc’s automated system will extract the key pieces of information – for example, the total, VAT amount, invoice number or reference.
Based on the detail Hubdoc identifies, the transaction is then created accordingly in Xero and a PDF of the upload attached.
