Nicky, who is based at our Letchworth office, joined George Hay in 2005. A member of the secretarial team, she is one of the first faces you will see when visiting the office.

Q1. Describe George Hay in one word?

Friendly

Q2. You’re hosting a dinner party – what three courses would you cook?

To start, it would be spicy prawns! Then, I think slow cooked beef and roasted vegetables for the main course, followed by a lemon & ginger cheesecake for dessert.

Q3. Though you wouldn’t believe it with some of the weather we’ve had recently, it’s Summer holiday season! Do you have a favourite holiday destination?

Anywhere that has uncrowded beaches – nothing beats just sitting and listening to the waves!

Q4. Describe yourself in three words?

Caring, polite & dedicated.

Q5. What do you enjoy most about working for George Hay?

I get to work with lots of nice people!

Q6. Tell us one fun/interesting fact about yourself that we might not already know?

I once met Sarah Ferguson…

Q7. What would we find at the top of your bucket list?

I’ve always wanted to visit The Rockies in Canada – so that would be right at the top!

Q8. Books or films?

Definitely books! I often find that when I watch the on-screen version of a book I’ve read, it just doesn’t compare and it’s never quite the same!

Q9. If you could try your hand at any other job in the world, what would it be?

I’d love to try my hand at Floristry.

Q10. Your profile tells us you enjoy ‘geocaching’ – can you tell us a bit about this and how you got into it?

I got into geocaching when my son did it with The Scouts. The easiest way to describe it is, ‘a worldwide treasure hunt’; you use map references and clues to locate a cache. They’re all different sizes and can be as small as a matchbox! It’s a really good, low-cost hobby – if you don’t mind walking!!
